Maintenance Manager in Training (MMIT)


GENERAL SUMMARY:
MMIT position is a 2-year training program designed for individuals with industrial maintenance superintendent/supervisor experience, which focuses on equipping and developing the skills necessary to become a maintenance manager within the company. This program utilizes the Pilgrims Maintenance Pillar Process.  Must be willing to travel as needed!

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Master implementing a preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering, plant maintenance staff and equipment suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance director to train team members on the ongoing enhancement of the Pilgrims Maintenance Pillar and develop materials to clearly convey expectation, procedures and tools.
  • Leverage various software and technologies to improve processes, data capture and spend/reliability analysis. 
  • Provides Maintenance Pillar and CMMS education and training for plant maintenance teams to improve work performance and equipment reliability.
  • Develop the skills to track maintenance department performance.
  • Apply learned maintenance budgeting methods to assist facilities during the budgeting process.
  • Analyze and compare equipment spend across plants to identify and communicate best practices to maintain equipment and improve performance.
  • Develops master PM templates, content and optimal spend for critical equipment.
  • Serves as a Pilgrims expert on CMMS functionality and procedures.
  • Serves as liaison with safety and QA, ensuring maintenance processes support our people and food safety initiatives.
  • Complete various projects and activities provided by the Maintenance Director.
  • Must be able to travel 50%-75% of time, with overnight stays of 1-4 days.
  • Must be able to work independently and exhibit Pilgrim values.
  • Must be able to traverse processing areas and equipment.
  • Must be able and willing to relocate if required.

 

EDUCATION:

Associate’s degree preferred or completion of Vocational/Technical specialty certification/licensure program in a related field. Work experience will be considered in leu of degree.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Candidates must possess 2-5 years of supervisory experience in maintenance operations, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a proven record of managing teams effectively.
